I get the same effect but cannot see any pattern to it. In some sieves all the prices that are shown are at the bottom and the missing ones are in the early results, but on others they see random throughout the results.

				Nev,

I'm like Jim there seems to be no pattern to it at all.

Sometimes Sieves produce no reults ie 0 items. When run again it's OK.

Sorry cannot be more helpful.

Just ran a Sieve - no prices for eBay Germany. No prices for eBay France.

Can you give me the details?

Is it a a search or category-based sieve?

What search terms?

Any other options? |

It's category-based sieve searching for United Nations (philately) peace keeping missions (eight different searches).

Categories: 260 (stamps) and 3515 (searching stores as well)

John

PS some searches still not coming up with anything at all!

e.g. in category 701, Stamps>Publications and supplies>Publications

If it's useful, the following are checked in the UN search;

Located in any country

Available to any country

Only search in category

Must accept PayPal

I believe the that the search for items "including stores" is the problem in the empty sieves. Turn this off and I get items!

I've rewritten a number of my Sieves and have taken out the "including stores" option. I now have same search twice with (1) "not including store" AND the (2) "stores only". This is returning the normal number of results.

However I still get, every now and then, no price registering. This happens on a few occasion, even for eBay US.

Ebay Germany and France and Italy are still a big problem! There may be others but I don't search there!

Hope this helps,

Regardless of what options are selected, sometimes, the program does not find any results. I can do the same search through eBay and find plenty with the same search terms and options. I need to click the "Get Auctions!" button three, four and sometimes twenty times to get it to properly work.

As a temporary fix, I think you should write a loop to continue searching until it stops saying "0 out of 0" or until the user hits "STOP" if no results can be found. Also, somewhere in the options, you could set up a retry count.

The program frequently fails, and there is no way for us to run the search over again without hitting the button every time. This can be very annoying because it makes the program useless. I can spend up to three minutes trying to get my search to work through your software. If I could just run it in the background with loops, then the issue is moot. I could simply check my E-mail while the program chugs away looking for results. Plus, I find it annoying to have to hit alt+G over and over

The problem is simple to replicate. Look for an item with only a few listings on eBay. The software has a lot of trouble with them. On occasion, it has trouble with every type of search.

Even if for some reason you cannot replicate the problem, please try to implement some kind of loop procedure to help us. I haven't programmed anything outside of VBA for years, but this problem is almost annoying enough for me to write a wrapper in Visual C++ to make your program loop to find results.

Software setup:

Windows XP Pro SP3

Newest Java

AS 1.9.4.1 |

Still big problems! No prices even for some US items now! Sometimes need to run Sieves 2 or 3 times to catch all items.
